Configuration with Basic Authentication

Overview

You can configure the email that sends the notifications that were automated and defined Bizagi Studio processes. This article explains how to configure the settings when you have selected Email Configuration by Basic Authentication.

For this type of configuration, you will need to obtain the settings from Office 365 or Entra ID.

 

For this type of authentication, Bizagi supports the connection to an email server that supports the SMTP protocol. This configuration includes: the name of the SMTP-compliant email server, the email address, and optionally, whether you want to send a copy of the emails.

 

The associated fields are:

 

SMTP Sender: Entity that initiates and sends an email message. Allows a maximum length of 256 characters, must be a valid email and is a mandatory field.

SMTP Type: Enter the value 'SMTPAuth' to access the SMTP server with authentication. allows a maximum length of 100 characters, it is mandatory.

SMTP Server: Enter the name of your mail server. Note that this server must support the SMTP protocol. This field allows a maximum length of 256 characters, it is a mandatory field and allows letters, numbers and '-'.

SMTP Port: This is the port number used for SMTP Secure (SMTPS) encrypted mail transmissions. You can use port 465 although it is an obsolete implementation. You must enter a value in the range of minimum 0, maximum 49000 must be entered. It is a mandatory field. Allows numbers.

Send email to BCC: Specify an e-mail address to send a blind copy of each notification sent. This field allows the entry of several e-mails, which must be separated by ';'.

Send email to CC: Specify an e-mail address to send a copy of each notification sent. This field allows the entry of several e-mails, which have to be separated by ';'.

Account: Enter the account or user that will access the SMTP server. This field allows a maximum length of 100 characters, it is a mandatory field and allows letters, numbers and '-'.

Password: Include the password of the user who has SMTP access rights. This field allows a maximum length of 256 characters and is a mandatory field. By default, the mask '****' will be returned for security. If the user wishes to change the value of this field, he/she can click the icon to display the password entered. Once the password has been entered, the value will be automatically encrypted.

SMTP Enable SSL: SSL activation field where it can only be set to True or False.

Restrictions and considerations for email configuration

In case the save service fails (click the Save All button), the configuration that was set will not be saved.

The user must ensure that the data entered is valid, in case the saving service is working properly but mailing is not allowed, check the validity of the data being entered.
