Overview
Take a look at this section if you are new to the cloud or feel that you have not yet fully outgrown the basics of the Automation Service service model (as described in the Automation Service Overview), as it elaborates on the relationship between you as the customer and Automation Service.
Roles and responsibilities
With Automation Service, Bizagi takes care of all the administration and management of the complete stack of infrastructure and services.
This means that Bizagi provides, manages and administers all the resources allocated to the underlying services and technology that encompass Automation Service, and you do not need to perform IT-related tasks regarding any of these resources.
Customer responsibilities
It is important for you to clearly understand the tasks your organization will need to consider to deploy and manage a successful cloud service model, so you can follow best practices regarding security, governance and integration requirements.
Customer responsibilities include:
TASK |
CUSTOMER ROLE |
---|---|
Developing the applications |
Your team of process analysts does this using Bizagi Studio. Alternatively, an authorized Bizagi Partner or Bizagi professional services if contracted separately. |
Requesting the Testing and Production environments needed to run the applications |
Your subscription admin with authorized access to the Customer Portal does this. |
Deploying the applications to Testing and Production environments |
Your subscription admin with authorized access to the Customer Portal does this. |
Monitoring resources use. |
Your subscription admin with authorized access to the Customer Portal does this. |
Scaling up or down as needed |
Contact your Account Executive to scale up or down your Performance Level during the time the subscription is active. |
Maintaining consistent versions of environments |
This means using a Bizagi Studio version that matches the Automation service version used by the Testing and Production environments: •Install Bizagi Studio, or upgrade to a newer version directly on the Bizagi Studio workstations. •Your subscription admin with authorized access to the Customer Portal requests upgrades of the Automation version used by Testing and Production environments. |
Managing end-user accounts and their access rights |
This is done by a process admin with authorized access to the admin menu in Bizagi Work Portal. When using integrated authentication, the customer is entirely responsible of ensuring that user accounts are registered in Bizagi and kept as enabled or disabled accordingly, while ensuring that these are managed at the customer's corporate Identity and Access Management system. |
Managing parameters and connectivity to integrated applications, systems or services (e.g, SMTP, web services URLs, integrated Identity managers). |
Your process admin with authorized access to the Management Console does this. |
Managing business parameters in Bizagi (lists of preset values, working time schema, business policies, etc.) |
Your process admin with authorized access to the admin menu in Bizagi Work Portal does this. |
You also need to make sure that any of services, applications or systems of record you integrate with Bizagi processes, such as web services, email services, DMS/ECM, core systems, or identity managers, are fully operational and that access to them is optimal.
This means ensuring that there are the technological means for Bizagi processes to access these services, applications or systems.
When you set up a VPN from your on-premises network to Automation Service, you will need to carry out the appropriate configuration on your side to establish an adequate VPN. |
