Automation Service user roles and portals

Overview

In Automation Service, roles are distributed in three main components: managing the subscription, managing the environment, and accessing the production run time environment. Here is a summary of the roles and portals:

Subscription Administrators: These administrators have higher privileges and can monitor all the services and the project acquired under the company subscription. Admins of any of these cloud environments may grant/revoke admin access to the subscription for others. They also may restart, stop and start up the service of a given environment and monitor resource consumption of environments.

A subscription admin needs an account at www.bizagi.com.

Environment Administrators: Users who manage or monitor the operations of Test, Staging or Production cloud-based environments. They can configure environment parameters using the Management Console. They can also apply deployment packages and activate maintenance windows.

Users: Users working on a daily basis with your built processes and applications. Users access the Production environment (the live operating environment).

Users' accounts are integrated to your Access and Identity Management system and managed from your side. Testers are similar to the users in terms of how they use Automation Service. However, testers access either the Test or Staging environments to conduct user-acceptance tests, while users access the Production environment.

Bizagi's Management Console is a lightweight console used to administer environment parameters, and tasks such as following up on scheduled jobs, setting execution traces, managing scheduler operations, starting the maintenance window and reviewing connection parameters used to integrate with external systems. For each environment you get an independent Management Console; hence, the environment parameters are managed independently. See Management Console.

Bear in mind that not all the users are authorized to enter every portal. Once Bizagi provisions the environments requested by the customer, some portals are exclusive depending on the user role. However, there are also public portals that can be accessed by all users. The following image summarizes the portals delivered by Bizagi to a company's subscription, as well as the public portals.
