Themes considerations

Overview

The Color Palette feature replaces the Themes feature available in versions prior to Fall 2024. Consider the following:

Considerations

In Custom Palettes, older Themes (if present) are marked with a Legacy tag.

Any modification to an old Theme will cause the App Designer editor to treat it as a Color palette, removing its Legacy tag.

If you have both old Themes and new Color Palettes, different scenarios may arise:

oSwitching from one old Theme to another will not change the colors of customized Controls.

oSwitching from an old Theme to a new Color palette (either Default or Custom) will cause the App Designer editor to display a warning message stating that the current custom settings will be overwritten and that this action cannot be undone.

If you're sure you want to apply the selected Color palette, click Continue.

While Themes are still used in older apps, updating to the new Color palettes is recommended for consistency and to leverage new features. During System updates, old Themes are replaced with the new Color palettes, and Controls are updated accordingly. A confirmation message is shown before proceeding.
