When having a subscription in Bizagi PaaS, you are entitled to the use of different Cloud applications provided by Bizagi.
Cloud applications provided by Bizagi allow you to go beyond process execution, and work with your data by exploring fields such as artificial intelligence (predictive analysis), by integrating reporting tools of your choice, or by creating portals centered around a richer user experience.
Datasets for Bizagi PaaS, is an application which allows you to expose and save in the Cloud, your Bizagi processes’ business information so that you can use it for specific purposes (e.g. creating reports with third party tools or for AI analysis).
You can easily configure how and when is this information extracted from processes in Bizagi, so that you ensure data preparation (cleaning, selecting data) in order for your Datasets to contain high-quality data (that which is final and reliable when consumed).
The following outline of steps summarize such high-level view of how you would work with Datasets:
1. Create a Dataset and define its data structure.
At this point you may choose to import initial data.
2. Connect Bizagi processes to the Dataset by means of a RESTful service.
Bizagi processes continuously feed the Dataset on a case-by-case basis.
3. Run predictive analysis (via Bizagi Artificial Intelligence features), or create reports with the information in the Dataset.
You configure the invocation by consuming information from an OData service endpoint.
Consider these concepts regarding how Datasets are intended to work:
1. Datasets store business information in a denormalized manner.
This means that Dataset hold such data in a single table-like structure (i.e, without relationships), just like a csv file does.
2. Datasets have final information.
Note that Datasets provide the means for you to easily configure how and when information is extracted from business processes.
This means that through such configuration, you ensure that data is final and that it doesn't need further preparation once it resides in the Dataset.
3. Datasets capacity.
There are no limits as to the number of Datasets or Dataset environments you may create in such application.
Similarly, each Dataset or Dataset environment does not have a limit of data it may store.
However, bear in mind that Datasets will store data which consume storage from the total storage capacity as supported by the performance tier of your enterprise Bizagi PaaS subscription.
